When betting on CS:GO maps, several factors impact the odds. Here’s how to approach each one!

In CS:GO betting, there's a multitude of options to pick from when making a bet, like picking a team to win. There's also “Special Bets” that can be made, one of which is the CS:GO Total Maps betting. It offers better odds compared to the match winner as it uses an over/under system. Here's how it works -

Let's say Team A has 1.6 odds of winning, and Team B has 2.6 odds. If you don’t want to bet on the match winner, you can bet on the number of maps played. For example, if you think the match will go past two maps, you can bet on “Over 2.5.” If you think the match will end with just two maps, you can bet on “Under 2.5.”

“Under 2.5” usually has lower odds because it’s more likely that Team A will win 2-0, meaning the match ends with fewer than three maps.

In simplest terms, a “Total Maps” bet is choosing how many maps you think will be played in a best of three or best of five game. Now that you understand how Total Maps betting works, here are some tips to help improve your chances.

Know The Maps - Familiarity with the CS:GO Active Duty maps is key. Teams often have a preferred map or a stronger chance of winning on certain maps, so understanding this gives you a better shot at successful bets.

Start Slow - If you’re new to Special Bets, don’t go all in right away. Start with smaller bets to get a feel for this wager type. Betting too big too fast can stretch your budget and hurt your potential profits.

Do Your Research - Stats are your best friend. Look into both teams, their recent matches and their favorite maps. This info can help you make more informed bets. If you get good at it, you might even try Multibets, which combine several bets to increase your potential payout. But a word of warning, if one prediction fails, the whole bet becomes void.

Stay Updated - New maps are always being released with updates from Valve. These new maps create fresh betting opportunities, but also give teams time to adjust to them. Be cautious when betting on these newer maps until teams are more familiar with them.

Remember, only bet what you're comfortable with, and don’t make the mistake of blindly betting on favorites because they seem like the safe choice. If you’re new to live betting, try betting on larger tournaments like BLAST or ESL to get started.
