We appreciate the attention being brought recently to the topic of CS skin betting and the broader industry practices. The conversation is important, and we welcome the opportunity to engage constructively and clarify key points as they relate to CSGORoll.CSGORoll’s objective has always been to prioritise transparency and the safety of our customers. Over the last eight years, we have built a valued, diverse community of customers who use and trust our platform, and we continue to offer them a place to win, buy and trade CS2 skins in a safe environment.

We’ve seen a number of competitors arrive in the last few years who don’t have the same protections. We’ve taken a number of steps in the last 24 months to try and distance ourselves from others in the way we conduct our business and create a brand image that all our stakeholders can stand behind. One of the key changes we made was to put in place a credible level of compliance which includes mandated age verification (KYC) to ensure that no minors are able to spend money on any games of chance on CSGORoll. We introduced this mechanism proactively as market leaders and to our knowledge we are still the only site that does that before a single $1 is able to be spent.

In the interest of public understanding, as of today’s date, over 99.64% of our playing customers have completed KYC and been age verified, with the remainder being restricted from playing while going through the process. We materially improved our KYC process in July 2023 and by November 2023 had KYC’d almost 70% of all active players. By April 2024 we had over 85% of our active players age-verified and we hit our operating target of 99.00% by May 2024. Conducting this level of compliance over users not only protects customers but also strengthens the industry. Preventing minors from playing our games of chance and ensuring a safe environment for our users is non-negotiable, even if it means implementing measures that could affect short-term revenue. The evidence speaks for itself: age verification does not harm business. In fact, it reinforces trust among the community and shows that it’s not a race to the bottom if your focus is on long-term sustainable growth.

Comparing today’s CS2 landscape to that of 2016, it’s clear that significant strides have been made; Some industry self-regulation, combined with platform changes from Valve have helped move the industry forward. We acknowledge some of our competitors still need to follow suit with stricter KYC measures to help improve safety and compliance standards.

We would encourage all platforms to adopt similarly robust measures and demonstrate accountability and protect against the harms being raised in the media today. In April of 2024 we made this statement to the industry to follow us, but even now, few have. As leaders in the space, we believe the industry can thrive whilst still safeguarding its users and integrity.

We hope that these facts and our perspective are reflected accurately in any reporting.
